BIOGRAPHY
Leshaun Jenkins is a current Fellow in NC State’s Johnston Principal Leadership Academy (JPLA). Leshaun earned a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Political Science from East Carolina University in 2000. He was also a member of the Men's Pirate Tennis Team from 1997-2000. Leshaun spent 16 years as a teacher at Tarboro High School, where he taught World History, World Geography, Civics and Economics, US History, and Global Studies. He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year four times and Coach of the Year 18 times. In 2014 he was named the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association State Soccer Coach of the Year for North Carolina as well as the National Soccer Coaches Association State Coach of the Year for North Carolina. He was named the Global Educator of the Year for Tarboro High School as well as District Global Educator of the Year in 2015. Leshaun is currently serving an Assistant Principal at Tarboro High School while he is also a student in the JPLA cohort. Over the course of his teaching and administrative career, he has served in numerous leadership capacities.
