PROBLEM OF PRACTICE
My Problem of Practice was birthed from a deep dive into the school's historical Math data. I was very interested in seeing the data at the beginning of the high school careers versus the end when perhaps it was too late revert. According the data, African American Males were the lowest performing subgroup. I worked very closely with the department chair and the lead Math I teacher. It was determined that there needed to be some classroom design/layout changes, some adjustments in curriculum delivery, and and more opportunities for student collaboration, voice and choice. Below you find artifacts from this year long research project.
